  • I'm bringing Xanga back - drop a comment if you're with me!

Okay, not really. Xanga made me do this, and now I see how much Xanga has changed. It looks more convoluted and complicated, but that may be just me resisting change. That's all. Drop a comment, but I may not ever see it.

  • So I'm pretty much done with this here Xanga. As anyone can tell from the last two pages of posts, I haven't felt the urge to write about much in the past half year. When I did write, it was very impersonal and about basically nothing at all. I guess I just haven't felt the need to talk about personal stuff in a public place for awhile now, for at least the past 7 months or so, and I stopped Song of the Day back in January.

I now have a new Xanga which I enjoy much more. It's almost purely about anything I do which entertains me; books, music, movies, concerts, games, etc. For anyone who'd like to check it out, you can now go to:

I'm not getting rid of this Xanga for good, but I'll probably be spending most of my time at The Entertainment.

    Thanks for reading!

  • Hello, people. Does anyone still read this?

Anyway, just felt like writing today. I saw a couple posts by others about gyms. Thought I'd write about my recent experiences.

Bally hasn't been cutting for me lately. The Hollywood gym I've been going to is really nice, but there are more downsides than that one good one. When I joined 7 years ago, I signed a contract for $40 a month, for three years. I was promised that at the end of three years, my payments would drop to $15 a month. As promised, they did. What they didn't tell me was that my monthly payment would rise by a small percent each year after that. I've been at $19 and change for the past year. Another downside is that none of my friends are Bally members. I always work out by myself.

I started looking into 24-Hour Fitness, and I'm happy I did. The first factor which got me looking was that it seemed like all my closest friends were members. Then, I was offered the killer deal:

Up front, I pay (in 3 installments) $700 dollars for the first three years. That's $19 and change a month, which is less than I'd be paying at Bally after they raise my monthly payment again this summer. The clincher is that after three years, I drop to $50 A YEAR, and that doesn't change unless I drop my membership.

I immediately signed up. I also got an awesome beginner package, with a bottle of multi-vitamins (a month's worth), a couple of protein shakes, and bunch of pretty tasty cookies, protein bars, and such. Now, I get to work out with  a couple of my friends sometimes, as well as trying to get some others close to me to sign up at some point (ahem!).

There have only been a couple downers since I joined, and they aren't that bad. One, I miss a couple of small things about the Bally I went to all the time. At that Bally, there are TV's on every cardio machine with cable channels (MTV, Comedy Central, the Documentary Channel, etc.), and they have a very good smoothie bar at the facility, something only a few 24-Hour Fitness gyms have. Also, I had a bad experience with a personal trainer, who was supposed to give me five complimentary sessions. I won't go into it, but it isn't that big a deal anyway. I was only taking the sessions because they were free.

So all in all, I'm a happy camper at 24-Hour Fitness. Who wants to go?

Me and Ali's friend, Tracy. Ali is a buddy of mine who was also in Vegas, although I had no idea until I had already decided to go.

Yes, I was the live model for that statue. BELIEVE IT!

Only moments earlier, some drunk-ass chased off the M&M's by continually humping them. So I had to settle for these Tropicana girls.

    THE END
